The Umbrellas LP

It’s almost been a year since The Umbrellas from San Francisco put out their first tape, the Maritime EP. In August they’ll be back with their debut longplayer on of our favourite labels Slumberland. The four-piece have created a classic self-titled record which aims to enter the canon of great Californian pop, just like Dream Boys did a few years ago. The lead single “She Buys Herself Flowers” definitely puts me in mind of “She Turns to Flowers” by 80s LA group The Salvation Army (who become The Three O’Clock).
