Occult Chemistry

RECORD TURNOVER 80s HITS #82

Occult Chemistry released their lone 45 EP in 1980 on the Dining Out label, which was co-founded by Dave Henderson of Disco Zombies. Someone, one of the tracks also made it over to New York, where it was pressed on a flexi that came with an issue of Bikini Girl magazine in the same year. It’s safe to assume this post-punk group was based in London and included Martha Tilson on vocals, who later did some recordings with A Certain Ratio. The rest of the line-up consisted of members of Twilight Zoners, who had already released two singles on the affiliated label Zip (the only releases on that label). Unfortunately there is little further information about the group, but the four tracks – representing the four elements – speak for themselves.
