One of the most low-key impressive releases of 2023 was the third record from Japanese trio Usurabi, or うすらび. Led by Toshimitsu Akiko from 90s group Doodles, she’s joined by two members of Broomdusters. Outside of the World came out on French label An’archives last summer and is a beautiful 8-track LP that will make you think of Galaxie 500 and Opal, but with a very personal touch.
