Drottningar Dauðans is the best record I’ve heard from an Icelandic band for as long as I can remember. It’s the second album from the four-piece punk group Börn, eight years since their debut and it’s almost like they are back from the dead. 9 tracks in just over 20 minutes and I can see why someone like Iron Lung would be dying to release this. The production is spot on, reminiscent of 80s deathrock classics. Tracks like “Vonin er drepin” have a great sense of melody underneath the darkness.
