The Stick Figures

RECORD TURNOVER 80s HITS #107

The Stick Figures is one of the most remarkable finds in recent history. Archeology is a retrospective collection created by new label Floating Mill Records that documents a unique and visionary group that formed in 1979 at the University of South Florida. The group included two different pairs of siblings and played an inspired take on post-punk that almost rivals the greatness of Pylon. Not surprisingly they one supported The Fall. Stick Figures released their lone and eponymous EP in 1981 but presented here is also six previously unreleased songs, two live tracks, and a new version of “Ellis Otivator Dub”.

Look out for this next year:

“The Stick Figures’ second full-length album, this one of entirely unreleased studio recordings from 1980 – 1981, will be released by Floating Mill in Spring 2022 and will be available on vinyl, tape, CD, and digital download.”
