Colleen Green is a name that definitely feels like a blast from the past. I fondly remember her first tape from 2010 and the apartment show she did in Malmö around 2018. Green’s most recent album came out on Hardly Art way back in 2015. Except from a cassette EP released on Infinity Cat the following year, it’s mostly been quiet from camp Colleen. But next month her new album Cool is coming on Hardly Art, with 10 fresh tracks. The two singles “I Wanna Be a Dog” and “It’s Nice to Be Nice” carry on in the same Ramonesy drum machine style, for people who still remember Best Coast’s hazy cassette days.
