Kitchen & the Plastic Spoons

RECORD TURNOVER 80s HITS #93

Kitchen & the Plastic Spoons was post-punk group from Sweden active only 1980-81, but who still managed to record a bunch of great tracks. They put out a self-released single and a flexi, but in 2007 a cd appeared on the tiny Ill Wind label that collected all of their recordings. Lots of new fans discovered them in 2014 when “Liberty” (a demo recording) was included on Sacred Bones’ compilation Killed By Death Rock Vol. 1. Also, Dark Entries put out a vinyl compilation with 11 tracks the year before that. The first two tracks “In Bars” and “Blätta” had been used on the test pressing of their first single, even if they weren’t meant for release. (Something that feels incredible when listen to them today).
