Caitlin, Nathalie and Anetta who make up the Dianas have developed into one of Melbourne’s best bands over the five years it has taken them to follow up on their debut album. Their 2017 EP Leave Love only hinted at what they would eventually accomplish on Baby Baby, their new album that came out yesterday on Blossom Rot Records. Check out the video for third single “Million Dollar Baby” right here and ponder if this isn’t even better than Lush before Robin Guthrie ruined their sound (cf. “Bitter“). The single launch for “Weather Girl” is still one of my favourite gigs of the short 2020 gig season, and the guitar/bass interplay is just stunning.
