New York-based artist Chloe Scarlett turned up on my radar when she released the mixtape Please Return in September. Her music has been described as ”a wound being reopened just to feel the warmth rush in again” and across these 10 tracks she explores vastly different sounds. From the ethereal opening track to noisier experiments that remind me of E_Death and Blood of Aza, it’s the sound of the 00s being chopped up, distorted and put back together again.
