Berlin-based cellist, producer and DJ Chloe Lula has a new record out on the Rotterdam label Mord, which has been going for more than a decade now. Any release by Lula is a big event in my book, and this one’s no exception. Ego Sum is a 6-track 12” that came out November 28 under the guise of an EP. However, it comes with two digital bonus tracks that brings it up to an album-length work that showcases her expert production techniques. There’s a fairly minimal aesthetic on display here, but the percussion is anything but humble – often filling out most of the audio spectrum.
