Margo Guryan

American composer and singer Margo Guryan is perhaps the most celebrated of artists lumped in with the 60s softrock or ‘sunshine pop’ sub genre. “Sunday Morning” from her lone 1968 album Take a Picture has more than five millions streams on just one platform. Guryan also recorded a wealth of “demos” that have been released under various names. RPM issued them as Thoughts in 2002 and included “Why Do I Cry” which as become an internet hit lately.

No wonder Numero Group picked this track for what they’re calling the first release in a Margo Guryan series, out in November. It’s a 45 with the previously unreleased track “I Ought to Stay Away From You” on the other side.
