Here’s an old release for ya, but one that was reissued last year after it’s initial release on Fred Thomas’ label Life Like back in 2019. XV is a Michigan trio that includes Shelley Salant who has played together with Thomas in Tyvek in recent years. Together with Emily Roll and Claire Cirocco, Salant creates avantgarde punk that feels like its completely unique thing. Sure, there’s influences from no wave and riot grrrl, but if you listen to their selftitled 10-track LP reissued by Gingko you definitely won’t be disappointed.
