RECORD TURNOVER 80s HITS #129

Starter formed in Switzerland in 1980 by Francis Foss who was also a fashion designer and Claudine Chirac from the now legendary Grauzone. The group also included Jet Harbour and Stephan Eicher, but the latter left before they could record their debut album. Inspired by the likes of Gary Numan and Kraftwerk, they released their self-titled LP in 1981 on Repertoire Records.

The group continued to release singles throughout the 80s but it is their first and only album that has created a name for them, especially after Dark Entries reissued it on vinyl in 2011. The album was celebrating its 30th anniversary at the time, but now it’s more than 40 years old. Still sounds vital though.
