You’d be forgiven for assuming that Puerta Negra is a new synth-punk group from Spain. Even though they sing in Spanish on their debut EP Costo Humano, they’re actually based in Portland. Berlin label Detriti quickly picked them up, because the sound is right up their alley. They gave the 6-track EP a release on cassette about a month ago, and it actually sounds so 80s it’s hard to believe it’s actually from March 2022.
