Palberta is probably one of the best kept secrets of New York, acting as a direct continuation of California groups of the previous decade like Crazy Band, Grass Widow and Mika Miko. For a few years they delivered album after album of strategically haphazard punk on local label Wharf Cat, but since 2018 there’s been silence. “Something In the Way” is their first new single in ages and also their first proper studio recording. Just like our perennial favourites Finally Punk, they manage to mix the groove of NYC no wave with with modern misdemeanours.

Palberta have announced that their new album Palberta5000 is out in January – including both “Something In the Way” and new single “Before I Got Here”.
