Mystery Guest live

So Mystery Guest finally launched their new album Octagon City – one that I’d been looking forward to forever and that didn’t disappoint anyone. While they weren’t able to hold the event as planned, they still managed to squeeze a tiny crowd into the bar at Long Play cinema in Fitzroy now that the lockdown has been lifted. It was an amazing performance and equally great was the support set from Traffik Island. He performed solo as a self-styled Jaques Brel via Kirin J Callinan crooner, and the songs seem to be his strongest to date by far. The second support slot was filled by Cayn Borthwick on saxophone, which resulted in the expected puns between sets.
