Sepehr is one of the most interesting artists active in the otherwise struggling music scene in San Francisco. He started working with local label Dark Entries for his 2018 record Body Mechanics and a couple of weeks ago they put out his most recent album Shaytoon. It’s a beautiful record that draws on several subgenres of electronic music – including acid, synth wave and techno. Each track goes for a unique feel and the production is spot on. “Coup d’etat” perfectly suits my mood of staying indoors and working on all kinds of weird projects. The breakbeat-flavoured “Magma” on the other hand, uses vocal samples to create a much more claustrophobic effect.
