I was lucky enough to catch one of Dawnbreaker’s sets while he was in Europe earlier this year. Based in Naarm, he has just released a stunning EP called This Echoes of Eternity. Out on Berlin label Curiosity Pill last week (July 21), this is a prime example of world building through electronic dance music. Building on elements taken from Warhammer 40,000, these 4 tracks tell the story of ”the Ancient Siege of Terra through sound and evolution” in their own words. This goes well beyond the confines of trance, to create a whole new world.
