New York-based sound artist Daffy Scanlan (also known as Drumloop) has made a new recording with Canadian noise artist Sam Mckinlay. Mckinlay goes by the name The Rita and their joint singe “Collapsed Engines” came out on Minneapolis label Phage Tapes on July 5. It’s actually a 7” vinyl with two tracks that sound like they are cut from one and the same live session. It’s very different from Drumloop’s recent album for Vial since the music is much noisier. It’s really nice to see Phage releasing more and more vinyls though, since they started as a DIY tape label. If you get your copy from Drumloop, it comes with lipstick kisses on the sleeve, just saying.
