Eli Talgi is an obscure figure in the history of electronic music. Totally unknown in his time, he operated out of Jerusalem and made a myriad of home recordings in the late 70s and early 80s. Fuelled by a love for tape machines and nerding over synthesisers, his music was discovered by chance in a fleamarket in Carmiel and mastered by Mule Driver from the original cassettes. A curated selection of tracks are now available on Cassette Recordings 79-85, which came out today, July 10, via Confused Machines, Nova Romema and Genesis Records. The 11-track LP is the a result of dedicated archival work and is one of the most surprising reissues of recent years, due to the sheer quality of the work.
