Sophia Djebel Rose is French artist who debuted in 2020 with a folky EP, but even before then she’d performed throughout Europe, Africa and the Middle East with the experimental duo An Eagle In Your Mind. In that constellation she sang and played an Indian harmonium. Her latest album is a 9-track LP called Sécheresse, and it’s released by WV Sorcerer Productions, Oracle and Ramble Records. Shrouded in a beautiful darkness reminiscent of Circuit des Yeux, the French-Moroccan songwriter delivers again. It came out in February and was preceded by this video for ”Blanche Biche”.
