Tricky FM, the multi-facetted pop project of Hana Freed, has quietly been putting out DIY productions since 2018. Unafraid to be simultaneously experimental and groovy, Freed’s music has become increasingly complex and culminated with a tape release on San Francisco’s Cherub Dream label last month (also home to Cheree and Figure Eight). The local SF artist Tricky FM goes all in with an eclectic 90s sound that draws on everything from triphop and jungle to Björk glitchyness on Peace, Love, Unity, Rave. The 8-track album is rounded out by a remix from Luvr Boy.
