Basic House is the musical project of Stephen Bishop who runs Opal Tapes. Going back a decade in time, it’s been a sporadic project at least looking at the last five years. 2017 saw the release of the latest Basic House album (on Alter) and last year a tape came out on the Finnish label Sähkö. Nu-Antiphon is a new 6-track album that came out a few days ago on Opal Tapes, presenting a mix of found sounds, samples, drones and sparse electronics. It definitely leaves me wanting more.
