Anna Fox Rochinski may be more familiar as the singer and guitarist of Quilt, who have released several great albums and toured extensively. After the Boston group folded, Shane Butler formed Olden Yolk. Rochinski is now based in Brooklyn has been working on solo material that has now been released under her own name. Cherry is an impressive soo debut, available from Don Giovanni since last month. The 10 tracks on the record fuse pop with elements of funk and electro to a similar effect as Quilt’s standout track “Hissing My Plea”. Rochinski takes centre stage as a container for fluid and beautiful melodies.
