Smirk

2021 has started out well for Feel It and just a couple of days ago they released another hit record. Smirk is the solo project of Nick Vicario of LA groups Public Eye and Crisis Man, steeped in 70s budget rock and simple drum machine beats. The Smirk LP definitely goes for a less is more approach, relying on melodious bass lines to deliver the punch. The vocals are buried in the mid-register of the recordings, that sound deliberately lofi. The 11 tracks originally appeared on two cassettes last year and have been remastered by Daniel Husayn at NLBF. The UK pressing is available from Drunken Sailor.
