Qlowski is a London duo that’s new to my ears, but who have been around since at least 2016 when their first EP came out. That one had an early 90s Flying Nun thing going on with chugging riffs and synthesizers – not really sounding like a London band at all. Their latest single “Ikea Youth” is out on the great Maple Death label and sounds a bit more dark. Perhaps it’s no surprise then, that the b-side is a cover “Grinding Halt” by The Cure. The 45 comes with a classic fold-over sleeve, perfectly designed by Sam Kennedy.
