Hank Wood & the Hammerheads

New York City punks Hank Wood & the Hammerheads return with a long-awaited new EP. Use Me came out on local label Toxic State last week and it’s a corker. Pounding drums, frenzied guitars and hooks galore, just like we are used to. “Strangers” is a dark powerpop ballad, and “Tomorrow” reminds me a bit of Rocket From the Crypt. The title track “Use Me” shows a steps forward for the band, with its almost funky delivery. This is their first release in over a year, so let’s hope this means we can expect more from them during 2020.
