I’d been meaning to write about the first Pinheads album for ages. In the meantime, they’ve released the excellent follow up Is This Real. It’s out on Stolen Body and opens with the decidedly Stooges-inspired “Pure Hate”. Based in Wollongong, this group is probably one of the most authentic garage groups still around in Australia. Not afraid to challenge the boundaries of the genre, they might have been as big as B.R.M.C. if they’ve been around then.
