Electric Looking Glass is one of the most refreshingly unique acts to appear in California for years. They have a LP coming out this year, which looks like it might be the best psychedelic pop record in ages. That is, judging by the sound of their debut 45 “Someday Soon” which is out on Hypnotic Bridge in July. The four piece counts among their ranks Danny Winebarger (also guitarist in Hypnotic Bridge alumni The Turns) and Arash Mafi who runs the bespoke fashion label Mercury Magicians. They look the part, and they sound it too. Recorded on analog tape and with a matching 8mm video. The other a-side is called “Death of a Season”, and it’s worth getting for the sleeve art alone.
