London-based DJ and producer Samantha Togni has seen a steady rise in popularity and influence over a decade long career. With a background in hard techno, we first wrote about her in 2021 but by now she’s reaching a whole new audience as well running a label. Out on Boudica at the end of June, The Meaningless Beautiful is her first full album and a real statement. With guest appearances from legends like Skin (of Skunk Anansie) and Louisahhh (check out the videos below), this 9-track LP is far-reaching both in scope and ambition. In my opinion it manages the difficult balance act of having pop appeal while keeping its underground ethos.
