We’ve been very excited about the release of more material from The Stick Figures ever since hearing of these plans. You may remember the excellent retrospective from four years ago, that cemented the Florida group’s reputation as a lost gem of 80s post-punk. Hell, “September” became an instant classic for me. So the news of more unreleased material from 1980-82 was welcome. On June 1 the new compilation Disturbance came out as a self-released cd. Showing the two pairs of two siblings (plus fifth wheel Bill Carey) still at the high of their game, these 11 tracks were cut in Tampa and New York. Closing track “4 Portholes” is a new favourite.
