It’s been noticeably quiet from Ava Leoncavallo’s recording project Kidä, and while she is promising new music for 2024 there’s also been an early holiday gift from the London-based New York artist and sound designer. Leoncavallo is activating her label and podcast A Portal to Jump Through into a new musical project for her experimental output. Portal: Vol. 1 was released a couple of days ago and consists of 12 tracks ranging from ambient and neofolk to wild sound collages like “When Life Unveils Her Holy Face”.
