In Harvard there was a group called The Steves in the late 70s and early 80s. They released two 45 on their on label Hundreds Records in small quantities. Both called Steve, the members got some local radio airplay and played a bunch of shows and that was about it. One of them however, has continued making music and in 2018 shared the complete Steves recordings digitally. Iron Lung picked up the slack and decided to not only reissue their two singles (including the amazing “Making Time”) but also a third 7″ with the unreleased tracks.
This one is called Jerk! and came out in July. The other two are just as essential. Last week I played “Making Time” in a DJ set and it truly sounds almost current.
