Antipodean Anomalies 2

When Left Ear put out the compilation Antipodean Anomalies back in 2018, it was a massive reissue project that had unearthed some real gems of Australian and New Zealand music history, mostly from the 80s. When the second volume came out at the end of last year it was a similarly impressive project. This time it was a double-LP of 17 tracks in total and had taken four years to compile. The results are indeed stunning and the only artist I knew was Height/Dismay who’s reissue on Efficient Space last year I’m sure I meant to write about, but it never happened.

I love the track from Adelaide’s TCH, called “Moholy Nagy Takes a Holiday” and which actually reminds me of the Dali Muru record we just wrote about. The track from Electric Hand is just beautiful as well.
