Tantrum is a new band from New York City, playing punk that leans towards the d-beat end of the spectrum. On their first demo tape that they released at the start of the year, we get six tracks full of rage. On “Possess Me” they bring down the tempo a bit and the result is a great post-punk tune over a simplistic riff. “Administration of Trauma” is another great tune that alternates between beats to great effect. I know this is demo, but the drums being so loud in the mix gives it a murky sound. The vocals keep the listener’s interest alive throughout though.
