Eel Blood is the side project of Cameron Winters, commonly known as Kavari. Last year the project’s first full-length came out, titled Scalping Gods For Their Neglect. It was a pretty dark record, even for her standards. With the surprise release of a new record a few days ago, we get to dive deeper into that universe. The title ᛈᚪᚷᚪᚾ ᛈᚪᛈᛖᚱᛋ, written in what appears to be Anglo-Saxon runes, means ‘pagan papers’, which is also the title of the last of the 3 tracks on this digital release. The music was recorded in Paris, but has nothing of the city’s air for beauty and excess. This is sparse and dense noise that leaves you in a creepy mood.
