Brak from Berlin are back with a new tape that’s a split-release between Croux (EU/US), Makeshift Swahili (UK) and Mouhoi (Asia). Brak are now a trio comprising Sonja on guitar, Charlotte on bass and Karolina on drums. They’re still exploring sonic dissonances inbetween genres like no wave, noise and punk on Tweak Couture. This 5-track cassette came out September 21 and I love that there are not one but two quotes from Diät members on bandcamp. One of them says: “BRAK is expat slang for the moment of a night. The instance often being the morning after a sleepless night in which the sounds (or songs) of torture, nihilism and much buzz vehemently enter the room you and your mates have occupied, the tones flirt with your eardrums and then detonate your heart.”
