The Berlin-based experimental artist Dis Fig, or Felicia Chen, was previously a part of the underground scene in New York. She has performed at a multitude of festivals in Europe now, like CTM and most recently this year at Rewire. She has made a an album with The Body for Thrill Jockey, and one with The Bug (whom she performed with at Rewire) for Hyperdub. This year has been busy, with a new EP called Ladybug 1 and appearances at Berlin Beats and Pop-Kultur Festival. I was so impressed with her set at the latter one and I can’t wait to hear her new album What to Make of These Mortal Hands in full. It’s out on Thrill Jockey October 23 and is her first solo album since 2019.
