Sweeping Promises are Caufield Schnug and Lira Mondal and together they have really put smalltown Kansas on the map. Bands travel far and wide to record in their studio and Schnug has become a coveted producer. No wonder, when you hear the sound on their latest LP, called You Say I Romanticize. It takes the best parts of 90s lofi rock and combines it with spindly 80s post-punk sounds like that of Delta 5. Now recording for big label Sub Pop, they sound as vital as ever. The songwriting on these 10-tracks that came out in August is of the highest quality.
