We invite you to the launch of Bare Minimum – a zine created by me at the .exe artist residency programme in Berlin. There will be zines, limited merch and posters for sale. DJs and cocktails in the .exe store from 7pm. If you come early we will do some live printing of a limited edition in special colours, and you might be able to snag one of the free copies to early birds.

The 32-page screenprinted publication includes work by artists from five different countries curated to respond to the theme of displacement.
In this project printmaking is utilised as a medium to address displacement as suffering. Record Turnover has existed for several years as a platform for underground and under-represented music, but here the root causes of marginalisation are laid bare. As a third culture designer, writer, musician and DJ it is part of the founder’s mission to create despite oppression due to ethnic/gender/class identities. Bare Minimum examines the effects of hardship on cultural expression.

Vitaliy Matukhno (he/him), Ukraine
Vitaliy Matukhno is an artist, curator, activist, musician, and enthusiast from Lysychansk in the Luhansk region. In his work, he explores the identity and cultural context of his hometown and region. His goal is to develop, document, and represent the local and grassroots cultures of the Luhansk and Donetsk regions. He works with themes of the (post)industrial landscape and the preservation of “vanishing memory.” In his practice, he employs text and storytelling, as well as analog and digital photography and found materials. He is the founder and curator of the nomadic, self-organized institution “Galereya Neotodresh,” which previously functioned as an experimental exhibition space for young artists from the eastern regions.
Sophie Mccallum (she/her), Scotland
Sophie Mccallum is a fine art student at Glasgow School of Art, as well as a writer and graphic designer. Based in Glasgow, Scotland, her practise is currently experimental, spanning from spoken word to sculpture.
Alex Shelby (they/them), USA
Alex Shelby is an American artist based in Malmö, Sweden. Their practice stretches across different media like painting and drawing. The condition called aphantasia affects and informs their visual expression in unique ways.
Nabil Lejri (he/him), Tunisia
Inspired by traditional rhythmic practices and collective rituals from across the world, Nabil Lejri aka Shersh investigates how these practices can be extended through contemporary electronic music, using its tools to deepen physical engagement, collective immersion, and altered states of perception. At its core lies an interest in repetition, rhythmic possibilities, and timbral exploration. Particular attention is given to techno, percussive works, and other experimental approaches to sound, where distortion, noise, and headroom abuse become rhythmic tools in their own right.
Janu Krohm (she/her), Germany
Krohm’s work draws from the uncanny, and exploring the subconscious, focuses on essential aesthetics and a process-oriented approach rather than just callous technicality. Where she creates immersive sonic environments to let organic and synthetic elements collide. Whether performing live or as a DJ, her sets unfold as atmospheric, emotionally charged journeys between softness and distortion. With Eremit, now Berlin-based, Krohm set the cornerstone outside of the visual arts realm, releasing music from friends and hosting the first parties featuring DJs such as DJ Stingray 313, Nørbak, Dj Saliva and Lea Ochhi.
