The original Can’t Stop It! compilation is probably the defining release of Australian post-punk history. First released in 2001, it was reissued on vinyl by Chapter Music last year and now it’s time for the second volume. While the first included legendary groups like The Apartments, Primitive Calculators, The Particles and The Moodists, the second one dug even deeper with tracks from 1979-84.
That said, there are still well-known groups on here, like Essendon Airport, Use No Hooks and Severed Heads. But for the reissue, the double vinyl has been expanded to 26 tracks. One of the new additions is Aural Indifference’s cover of “Baby Love” from a 1981 compilation of Sydney groups. This track wasn’t on the 2020 reissue tape on Minimal Wave. Another one is a solo track by Lachelle Cauchi-Gera (of Wild Dog Rodeo who are also on the comp), also from a 1981 compilation. Lachelle (pictured above) sadly passed away in 2008.
