American producer Rashid Gadimov is known as both Weirdo Girl and snafu, with a dedicated following online. I first heard the album []}[[}}} (Brackets) from 2022 through someone’s birthday playlist. A few days ago a new record called Dovvner came out and it’s fascinating. The 8 tracks on the digital self-release have a kind of magical quality that would have fit in perfectly in I Saw the TV Glow. There’s definitely a cinematic side to Snafu’s music and the aforementioned album’s cover art comes from the 2000 film Ginger Snaps.
