It was a joy to see Filmmaker play live at Sameheads, and an honour to have been a small cog in the machine for that booking. The Colombian producer’s new album Undercurrents came out in May – self-released as usual – and it’s yet another parade through 11 tracks of abysmally dark electro. On the slower side of output, this record has several touchpoints with the preceding record Diffractions from February.
Just a month earlier, Faunes Efe also put out a new EP under his other alias GLYF. Unbalance of Nature is available in digital form from his own label Body Musick. Compared to the new Filmmaker record, this one is a lot dirtier, faster and packed with big breaks. All four tracks are great here.
