Angels In Shade is a new lofi, bedroom synth project based in Sweden. I first came across the music when the artist handed me a tape after we had hung out in similar circles for a few years. We became friends and I decided that the second tape was going to be the first release on the Record Turnover label.
As you may know, we put out a compilation in collaboration with Dissontiya in Berlin a few months ago. Already at that time, the idea for the label was taking form, and there are also other releases in the pipeline.
II began as a collection of demos, eventually fleshed out to 16 tracks but still not quite an album. It’s a great example of a musician struggling to project a distinct vision, playing in different bands but with the raw energy of the home demos capturing the purest essence of it. The cd is coming out July 10, but it’s up for pre-order now and you can stream one of the tracks below.
