Pink Stiletto is a new solo project from San Francisco, who are currently on tour in Europe. Valery Kvochkova (ex-Deux Nomiz), who is Pink Stiletto is playing four shows in Berlin this weekend, landing at Sameheads on Friday. The connections to Europe are serveral: Tobias Lill (Diät) mixed and mastered the record, and it came out on Barcelona label Cuerdas Fuera Records, split with Bretford Records of Berlin. The latter also put out the new Cosey Mueller record, which feels like an apt reference point. Also, I first came across this 7” in Static Shock and immediate made a mental note to check it out later. Bananza consists of 4 retro-sounding synth tunes with influences from Neue Deutsche Welle and EBM.
