Sîya comp (Shelter)

The compilations from Estonian label Shelter have taken on a life of their own, where they levitate in the air above club sounds, post-club and deconstructed interpretations of global rhythms. Sîya is the latest one, meaning shadow in Kurdish. It came out earlier in May and includes everything from Afro-Latin rhythms to Eastern European to Arabic sounds. Among the 17 tracks are contributions from Swedish producer Rumina, Comperi, Andras_2020 from Brazil but German-based, Oblinof from Argentina, Wrack from Tokyo, the mysterious Myen (pictured), as well as local Estonian Luurel Varas (who just put out an EP on Shelter).
