Labazuy is a Brazilian, London-based DJ and producer. A resident of the Ego Death label, she put out a new record for them April 25. Orbit consists of 4 tracks and is her first substantial release. Only available digitally, I think this one really takes hard techno to another level. There are so many layers to this – textures, even melodies – that you don’t hear in more monotonous approaches like bochka. This record is not so much about breaking you down into a more receptive mode of consciousness – it requires constant attention.
