lor2mg

Kat Harmon from California (but originally Arkansas) is a songwriter and producer who makes music as lor2mg. The project spans several different genres but I first heard of her when she covered a Built to Spill classic earlier this year. Her latest record goes more into shoegaze and dreampop, with inspiration from film history and the women in it. She mentions Bergman’s Cries and Whispers and Splendor In the Grass by Elia Kazan, and of course the cover depicts silent era actress Pina Menichelli. Musidora came out digitally at the end of March and includes 7 news tracks that are actually from 2 years ago.

Back in February lor2mg also put out a collaborative record together with over 15 artists to help raise funds for families affected by ICE. It’s called Ballads For a Burning World and I highly recommend you check it out. It opens with three beautiful lofi tracks from herself.
