Applause put out a compilation curated by Paloma Colombe in November, called Dihya. In case you don’t know her, she’s a very versatile creative from Paris who has been active in everything from filmmaking, radio, curation, sound art and DJing. She used to live in San Francisco but she also has roots in Gaza and the Amazigh culture in Algeria. Next week she is set to perform for Festival Ciné-Palestine at Station-Gare des Mines. The festival is based in Marseilles just like Applause, who also did a takeover for Rinse last year. Bergsonist, who’s one of the artists on the compilation, appeared. Dihya also includes Colombe’s first own track, as well as music from Estoc, Oldyungmayn, Tatyana Jane and Syqlone.
