Wvalaam Klous from Liverpool announced a long time back that she had a new record on the way. Maybe she was referring to this one, called Tension, and out on her bandcamp since March 22. These 7 tracks lean heavily into darkwave and post-punk, as her punk-inspired vocals careen over the top. The melodic bass guitar is at the centre of the sound, with industrial noises and cheap EBM drum beats filling out the void. There are no hits here, but rather bleak and difficult subject matter as on the painfully slow ”Genocide”.
